The arrogance of new parents

I see it in my friends and strangers who I walk by on the street. There is a bit of an arrogant way to people with kids, especially new parents. There pretty self centered and obnoxious even. I have old friends who look at me like I'm a stranger now. Why do people walking down the street with their kids give me dirty looks for? Do they think I mean their children harm? It seems like couples with children are very indifferent toward everybody else in the world. Get over yourselves!
