I'm all for men having vasectomies, which is cheap and relatively pain-free. A tubal ligation, on the other hand, is major surgery and very different from a vasectomy, in terms of risks and price. Tubal ligation involves general anaeshtetic, which means there's a (small) chance that the woman might die. Big, big difference, mate.
