And I hate to even suggest this idea since it is NOT the motivation for this site, but more and more people are starting to suggest it...
I think eventually the only real way to eliminate the fakes is to simply charge a nominal fee to use the website (i.e. $10 a year). Initially, I was only going to make it a penny but I then realized people would just pay the penny as a goof.. I suspect $10 isn't much money, but is just enough that people who are serious will IMMEDIATELY pay it, and the people that aren't serious won't simply throw $10 away.
Anyway, this is definitely NOT happening anytime soon if ever... but I suppose if enough people request it, we can always do it.. the few bucks I make will simply reimburse me for the hosting fees/costs.. which normally was pennies.. but since the membership/volume is increasing very quickly on this site, i already see I need to upgrade my bandwith/storage/etc -- which is actually a good problem to have! 
In the meantime, I installed a voting booth on this issue. Please feel free to vote and/or post your feedback here about this possible idea.
