I had my tubes tied when I was 21. It was hard to convince a doctor to do the procedure but I persisted about not having kids to doctors since I was 16. Before I was recommended to a doctor, I had to see a psychiatrist for the referral. She asked me one simple question, "What would you do if you met a special someone in your life and he wanted kids?" I replied, "I dumped him because he's not the right guy for me." The psychiatrist was satisfied with my answer and referred me to a doctor who would do the procedure. Sixteen years have past since I've had the procedure done and I'm glad that I stuck to my guns.
